Parks operations and maintenance are a responsibility of the Leon Valley Public Works Department. The Public Works Department maintains the 23-acre Raymond Rimkus Park. The Park includes walking trails, basketball courts, soccer and softball fields, a picnic pavilion and picnic shelter, and numerous shaded picnic tables. The picnic shelter, fields, and pavilion are available for reservations. The park is compliant with ADA requirements and is energy friendly as there are no lights in the Park. The Park fields are watered by the use of recycled water furnished by the San Antonio Water System (SAWS).
Adjacent to Raymond Rimkus Park is another 36-acre wooded site that has been leased to the Leon Valley Historical Society for preservation as a natural area in conjunction with their historic Huebner Home. Further, due to recent subdivision growth the City of Leon Valley has resulted in the acquisition of another park site at the end of Shadow Mist.If you have any questions or issues that need to be reported in regards to the park you can submit a ticket online or call (210) 684-OnIt.
