Emergency Operation

The mission of the Operations Division is to provide fire, rescue and other emergency services at premium levels of customer service and cost. Operations personnel provide this protection on a day-to-day basis through proper and quality training and by maintaining both themselves and their equipment in a state of readiness.

Services include fire suppression, emergency medical response, vehicle rescue, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, active shooter response and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) response.

Members of the department are some of the best trained emergency responders in the state.  Our members participate in local and regional training events.  They also mentor up and coming emergency service professionals in the area.

PERSONNEL

The Operations Division is composed of 24 cross-trained career firefighters, divided into three shifts of 8 members. Each shift has a Captain, Lieutenant, Engineer and five firefighters. Shifts are 48 hours on duty, followed by 96 hours off duty. The minimum shift staffing is 6 per shift

  • Medic 159 D– 2008 Frazer Ambulance (Reserve Unit)

Water Rescue

The Fire Department maintains a cache of water rescue equipment for response to flooding and low-water crossing rescues that occur within the City. Equipment includes throw bags, Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs), helmets, ropes and rope rescue hardware.
