Rey Orozco was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up in San Antonio graduating from Brackenridge High School.

Rey enlisted in the United States Army in 1972 and served in Korea and Fort Hood Texas. Upon his honorable discharge, Rey enrolled in college studies, to include Law Enforcement and Constitutional Law.

Rey accepted a position at Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital in 1975. He started in the Mail Room, was promoted to Patient Services Assistant in the Surgery Department, promoted to Night Administrator, followed by promotion to Chief of Patient Care Support Office and Retired in 2011 as the Deputy Director of Administration, a career which spanned over 35 years. He was honored and enthusiastic about helping his fellow veterans.

Chosen by the voters of Leon Valley as their City Councilman, Place 4, Rey is again enthusiastic to help his community. Rey is focused on moving Leon Valley forward by building and strengthening City infrastructure, public safety, and the economy. Rey is dedicated to preserving the values of faith and family that make Leon Valley a place to call home. Rey and his wife, Yvonne enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Rey and Yvonne are members of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church where they are both active volunteers.
