Utility Locates

The law requires that persons excavating the ground below 16” must call 1-800 DIG TESS and request that underground utilities, such as electrical, telephone, fiber optic cable, and gas be located. For water and sewer main and lateral line location requests, persons may call the Leon Valley Public Works Department directly at (210) 681-1232. Water and sewer main and lateral location requests are responded to within 48 hours by Public Works employees, as required. The City is not responsible for completing location requests for any of the other utilities.
