Garage Sale Application
Please read the following information to ensure that the garage sale meets all City requirements. Any person desiring to conduct a garage sale shall first obtain a permit from Leon Valley City Hall.
RAIN DATE - If you get rained out on the day(s) of your sale you will have to contact Leon Valley City Hall the very next available business day to be allowed a rescheduled for a new sale date.
LIMITATIONS OF GARAGE SALES AND HOURS OF OPERATION – no more than four (4) garage sales may be conducted by the same applicant or at the same address during any consecutive twelve (12) month period. Sale hours are limited to no earlier than 8:00 AM and no later than 6:00 PM. All sale items must be owned by the applicants / residents or their families. All sale items must be displayed within the yard. No items may be placed on the sidewalk or front yard easement. A garage sale may not extend over more than three (3) consecutive days. Whether of one (1), two (2), or three (3) days duration the sale shall constitute as one.
SIGNS - No signs advertising the garage sale shall be posted on public property, including easements. On private property the sign may not be more than four (4) square feet in size. Signs may not be placed within two (2) feet of the property line or within two (2) feet of a public or private property, including public easements.
ALL – signs must be picked up no later than twenty-four (24) hours after the sale is over
POSTING OF PERMIT – This permit must be posted by the applicant in a conspicuous place within the garage where the sale is being conducted or otherwise available for inspection by the City representative.
ORDINANCE VIOLATION - Any violation of the Ordinance shall be punished by fine no less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00).
