Schedule a Grand Opening

The City of Leon Valley supports and welcomes new businesses opening within our City. We want to make businesses feel special and what better way to do that than by making an official proclamation to mark the start of your grand opening. During this event the City will provide the following:

• an official proclamation certificate which will be read by the Mayor, council member, or other senior ranking city official,
• The ribbon and YES, a pair of giant scissors,
• Social media posts of the grand opening on official city platforms,
• have photos of the event taken, which will be provided free of charge to the business owner after the event,
• An email notice by the Economic Development office to registered businesses about the event. 
• And provide the business owner and business community an opportunity to mingle with each other.
• An official welcome post after the event on all official City social media platforms.

While you have the full backing of the City, there are a few things the City legally cannot do. These include.

• Paying for media advertisements (radio, TV, Social media, etc.)
• Provide food for the event.
• Providing entertainment for the event.
• Providing equipment for the event.
• Providing hourly City Staff free of charge.
• Traffic control free of charge and without proper notice to the City.

While the City is unable to do certain things or pay for certain items, that does not mean that the business owner cannot. This is your event, and the City is just here to make it a little more special.
