Raymond Rimkus Park, named after Leon Valley's First Mayor, is a beautiful 27-acre park located at the corner of Poss and Evers Roads. Open daily to the public from sunrise until dusk (No Camping Allowed), NO exception for the EASTER WEEKEND. Park rules are enforced by the Leon Valley Police Department. The pavilions and sports fields can be rented by visiting the online reservations system.
The park is open from sunrise-sunset; therefore the reservation times allowed change throughout the year.
Amenities Include:
- 1/2 mile (inside track) & 3/4 mile nature (longer) track.
- Handicap Accessible Playground.
- Individual picnic tables (available on a first come, first served basis)
Raymond Rimkus Park and the Natural Area Park are both located in a floodway and floodplain. In the event of heavy rain and/or flooding, both areas are closed to the public. If you have reserved the pavilion or the athletic fields and the park is closed for rain, you will receive a refund of fees paid, with the exception of any online convenience fees. We want you to have fun and enjoy our parks, but we have to assure the safety of our patrons!
