Benny Martinez

Benny Martinez was first elected to serve on Leon Valley City Council in May 2014. Prior Benny has served on the Leon Valley Zoning Commission, member of the Business Affairs Committee and completed the Leon Valley Leadership training program.

Benny grew up in Albuquerque, NM. He has lived in Leon Valley since 2001. My wife Pat is a seamstress with her own business. Together we have 4 children. Pat’s kids live in Lubbock and mine live in Albuquerque.

Benny owns QualTel Communications, a Leon Valley Information technology company started in 2004. I will use my business knowledge to guide my decisions as your City Council representative. I plan to bring the City of Leon Valley, Northwest San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development department to work together to attract new businesses.

"I received my formal electronics training in the New Mexico Air National Guard for 8 years, where I worked as a full time civil service electronic Technician. I purchased a TV repair business which later transitioned into a pager, two-way radio and business telephone sales & service company.

I have been involved in many civic and non-profit organizations. I am an Amateur Radio operator Call sign NU5P, Extra Class Licensee. I have assisted in providing communications to different events and emergencies. Benny is a member of the Leon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce as a board member. On Sunday I am a Broadcast Engineer for First Baptist TV ministry. We broadcast a live 1 hour show at 11:00 AM for the last 50 years."
